Investigative Committee makes relations with American partners closer in sphere of mutual legal aid within criminal cases (Photos)

On September 18, 19 training on «Mutual legal aid inquires and assets forfeiture» was held in the RA Investigative Committee by the RA Investigative Committee and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The employees of the RA Investigative Committee, as well as RA Prosecutor General's Office, RA Police, Interpol National Central Bureau, interested representatives of General Department of Fight against Organized Crime of the RA Police took part in the training.  

Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee A. Ghambaryan, greeting the participants, emphasized the practical significance of the training stating that increase of inquires on legal aid submitted to the U.S. law enforcement bodies within criminal cases investigated in the proceeding of the Investigative Committee has been observed in recent years. He thanked the partners of the U.S. Department of Justice and regional legal attaché of U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation Mrs. Ketlin Kenning personally for her great efforts in organizing the event.  

In the framework of the training, conditioned by contemporary crime tendencies, the lawyers of the U.S. Department of Justice represented the frame of requirements put forward by U.S. legislation for the inquires on legal aid within criminal cases to be addressed to the U.S. law enforcement bodies, practical issues on operative conduction of procedural and other activities to provide the legal aid, including the issue on possible reduction of deadlines of carrying out the inquiries by the U.S. law enforcement bodies were discussed. As a result, agreement was achieved between the Division of Provision of International Requests of the RA Investigative Committee and OIA of U.S. Department of Justice on conduction of direct communication if necessary.

At the end of the event the participants were given appropriate certificates in the name of the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.
