Two Persons Detained within Criminal Case on Contemptuous Treatment to Court

In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of contemptuous treatment to court of the first instance of Tavush region and using violence against the representative of authorities were found out.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, on March 4, 2022 after the trial when the judge published the verdict not to suffice the motion to change the pretrial measure with personal guarantees, the defendant scolded the judge. When the latter left the hall a group of citizens also scolded after which they tried to attack the judge which was prevented by the court bailiffs.

Besides, when the citizens were invited out of the session hall, the same persons who had participated in the trial, by using violence tried to go up to the second floor after the judge during which they also scolded.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the defendant according to the Part 3 of the Article 343 of RA Criminal Code, charge was pressed against two of the mentioned citizens according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 and the Part 3 of the Article 343 of RA Criminal Code, against one – according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code. The motion to use violence against two of the citizens was sufficed by the court.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
