Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on attempt to vote instead of another person in polling station N 37/09 completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on attempt to vote instead of another person in polling station N 37/09 in Goris was completed in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Through preliminary investigation it was found that the resident of Goris A. Gyurjyan, who was involved in the voter list of polling station N 37/02, on December 6, 2016 went to the polling station and participated in referendum on Constitutional reforms.

According to the obtained evidence on the same day at about 19:30 he went to polling station N 37/09 of Goris to vote again. He received a ballot and attempted to vote instead of another person. However he could not accomplish the crime under unforeseen circumstances as the commission member noticed the seal in his passport indicating that he had already voted. A. Gyurjyan took his passport and left the polling station leaving the ballot.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against A. Gyurjyan according to the Article 34--153 of RA Criminal Code.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
