Preliminary investigation of criminal case initiated on stabbing father-in-law by former son-in-law completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on stabbing 59 year-old resident of Yerevan was completed in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the former son-in-law of the injured.

On May 31, 2017 a call was received informing that in the yard of one of the houses of Artashisyan Street, Yerevan the resident of Yerevan, born in 1958, was inflicted bodily injury with a sharp cutting-piercing item on the left part of the chest.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of the case were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified. He was the former husband of the daughter of the injured, born in 1983.

Pursuant to the obtained evidence on May 31, 2017 at about 11:20 in the yard of one of the houses of Artashisyan Street, Yerevan the resident of Yerevan 34 year-old man argued over domestic matters with his former wife's father, born in 1958 during which he stabbed him once on the left part of his chest. Pursuant to the result of forensic medical examination, the  injury inflicted was heavy – threatening to life.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 34 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
