Criminal case initiated on hindrance to legal professional activity of journalist of “Public Radio” and destruction of property

The criminal case initiated on hindrance to legal professional activity of the journalist of “Public Radio” and destruction of property was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On April 22, 2018 the employee of the company “Public Radio” V. Tadevosyan submitted a report in Nor Nork Division of the RA Police informing that on the same day at about 18:30 while performing his activities as a journalist at “Ford” service operating in Acharyan Street some masked people in civilian clothes hit him with blackjacks, twirled his hands inflicting physical pain. Besides, they stole his tablet of “IPad Air 2” model and mobile phone of “Samsung Galaxy 17” model thus hindering his legal professional activity as a journalist. Then they hit with blackjacks and damaged his car of “Nissan Tida” make inflicting property damage.

A criminal case was initiated in Nor Nork Division of the RA Police according to the Part 1 of the Article 164 and the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code which was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department.

During preliminary investigation V. Tadevosyan was found the injured party and questioned. Forensic merchandising and forensic medical examinations were commissioned the results of which have not been received yet.

Active investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to find all circumstances of the case, to identify those having committed the alleged crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
