Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Initiated on 3 Year-Old Child’s Murder in Tsapatagh Completed
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on 3 year-old child’s murder committed in Tsapatagh was completed in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
In the course of the preliminary investigation apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that T.O.’s father, motivated by revenge, with the intent to illegally deprive the minor child of life, who was his close relative and was in a helpless condition, on October 27, 2025 at the field area adjacent to the settlement of Tsapatagh, killed him by squeezing his throat with his hand. Then, after hiding the body in various parts of the field, he moved it to the part of the field adjacent to the intersection leading to Jil settlement in Chambarak community, where the body was found on November 2, 2025, as a result of search and rescue operations.
An external examination of the body was performed, during which bodily injuries were found on T.O.’s head.
According to the conclusion of the forensic examination of the body, the 3 year-old child died of mechanical asphyxiation due to compression of the neck organs with blunt objects.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.O. according to the Points 3, 5 and 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.
Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against him.
The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
