Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Initiated on Murder Attempt in Courtroom Completed
As a result of investigative and procedural actions conducted in the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, it was found out that on October 27, 2025 in the courtroom of the Court of First Instance of Lori region, immediately after the conclusion of the court hearing, motivated by revenge against E.D., charged with murder of his close relative, S.N. approached the latter and stabbed him on the back with a knife kept by him, causing heavy bodily damage.
The police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on duty in the courtroom immediately removed E.D. from the courtroom, after which S.N. being unable to complete the crime, fled.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.N. according to the Part 1 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code.
In the course of the preliminary investigation S.N. was found and detained.
On November 25, 2025 home detention, bail and absence ban were used as a pretrial measure against him.
The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
