Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on smuggling was completed in the Department for Investigation of Crimes against Property of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. 
During the preliminary investigation it was found out that on October 25, 2025, while entering Armenia through a customs checkpoint, tհe citizen illegally transported across the state border an undeclared cash in particularly large amount- a total of 7 million 990 thousand 100 Russian rubles, subject to customs declaration, keeping it in the pockets of the clothing he was wearing. 

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against one person according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 291 of RA Criminal Code. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
