Road Construction Company Unlawfully Exploited Sand and Gravel Quarry Situated on Area of Historical-Cultural Monument․ Damage Caused to State Recovered

 

In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that from August 11 to 13, 2025, a road construction company unlawfully exploited a sand and gravel quarry situated on the hill recognized as the “Mkhitar Sparapet” historical-cultural monument, extracting around 5.000 cubic meters of sand and gravel without proper authorization.

In the result of procedural and evidentiary actions conducted in the course of preliminary investigation, the damage of 6 million AMD caused to the state has been recovered. 

Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding is ongoing. 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
