On June 13, 2021 at 19:15 a call was received in Ararat Police Division from Vedi medical center informing that a man\s body with firearm injuries was taken to hospital.

In the result of taken measures it was found out that the mentioned man was 34 year-old resident of Ararat.

At the same time a call was received in Ararat Police Division informing that shots had been heard from the area of the cemetery of Goravan community, Ararat province.

Through inspection of the scene in the mentioned cemetery - in front of the tomb of Marzpetuni Petrosyan – the authority with nickname “Marso” a car of “VAZ 21099” make with numerous firearm damages, 44 capsules of 7,62x54mm, 12 ones of 7,62x39mm, 6 ones of hunting bullet, 1 bullet of 7,62x54mm, a knife, blood-like traces were found.

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Conduction of preliminary investigation of the criminal case was assigned to the investigative group.

In the result of taken measures it was found out that on the same day at about 18:55, in order to get clarifications, Marzpetuni Petrosyan’s sons and their friend arranged and met 34 year-old man and his friends at the cemetery. An argument broke out between them then shooting started. As a result 34 year-old man died.   

Besides, on June 14 at 00:15 another call was received in Ararat Police Division from Vedi medical center informing that a man, born in 1982, with firearm injuries was taken to hospital. The latter, who was one of 34 year-old man’s friends, was taken to Erebuni medical center for operation.

Investigative and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
