In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence measures of great volume taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the proceeding of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of 46 year-old man’s murder in Armavir province were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

On April 23, 2018 at 18:55 a call was received from “Vagharshapat” medical center informing that the resident of Vagharshapat N. Hovhannisyan, born in 1972, with diagnosis of «cut-pierced wound on the right part of the chest, with pericardium and myocardium damage, heart tamponade third-fourth degree shock» was taken to medical center. During the operation – on the same day at about 21:45 cardiovascular acute malnutrition and N. Hovhannisyan's biological death was registered.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder) preliminary investigation of which was later tasked to General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that N. Hovhannisyan had sustained the bodily injury incompatible with life in the central square of Vagharshapat during the argument that took place at the area adjacent to Komitas monument. The motive of the argument was found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Vagharshapat, born in 1967.

Forensic medical, forensic biological, complex fiber, forensic trace, video-audio and computer technical examinations were commissioned. Numerous witnesses were questioned, investigatory action of presenting to recognition with a photo was conducted.

On the base of the obtained evidence 51 year-old man was involved as a defendant according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared.

The relevant subdivisions of the police were tasked to take active operative-intelligence measures to find the person having committed the alleged crime and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
