One Person Arrested on Suspicion of Criminal Authority's Murder Preparation
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the proceeding of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee sufficient data were obtained on preparation of murder of a person considered criminal authority. One person was arrested.
In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures taken within the criminal case it was found out that in 2017 murder of a resident of Vanadzor considered criminal authority was prepared by a group of people. In order to carry it out a sniper was invited to Armenia. The latter was Armenian but lived abroad in recent years. He arrived in Armenia on April 19, 2017 and stayed a few days in one of the guest-houses adjacent to the airport then on April 24 he moved to Vanadzor with his accomplice where they lived in an apartment rented in advance.
On the morning of April 28, 2017 the sniper's body with numerous bodily injuries was found in the rented room.
Through investigation sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that the body was taken from Vanadzor to Yerevan by the accomplice to conceal the traces of murder as well as of preparation of murder of the criminal authority.
In the result of investigatory actions of great volume the person who had sent money to the sniper to arrive in Armenia, had bought a plane ticket, had met him at the airport and taken him to the mentioned guest-house was identified. According to investigation data, with a group of people he offered the sniper to carry out the murder of criminal authority. In addition, sufficient data were obtained that an optical firearm had been acquired to carry out the murder.
Within the criminal case investigated in the proceeding of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee one person was arrested today on suspicion of murder preparation.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of sniper's murder, the frame of those related to preparation of murder of criminal authority.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
