In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of extortion in order to acquire a particularly large amount of property committed against a citizen were found; two persons were involved as a defendant.

In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence actions of great volume conducted through preliminary investigation factual data were obtained on the allegation that in March, 2016 extortion in order to acquire a particularly large amount of property was committed against RA citizen with participation of criminal authorities.

According to preliminary investigation data, RA citizen had personal, money problems with his acquaintance. M. Doloyan, V. Avdiani considered criminal authorities interfered in it and through pressure demanded from the citizen money in particularly large amount which he allegedly owed to another person.

On March 25, 2016 in Yerevan M. Doloyan called the citizen and offered him to meet. Pursuant to the arrangement on the next day at about 14:00 they met and other persons, including V. Avdiani were also present at the meeting.

Through objective investigation it was grounded that the latters demanded clarifications on allegedly lost “bet” in Georgia from 2013 to 2014 which the citizen denied. Then violence was used against the citizen demanding 20.000 USD. Through investigation it was also found that by threatening the authorities took the citizen’s car of “Range Rover Sport” make in which he had driven to meet them.  

On November 17, 2017 M. Doloyan was found and on the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against him according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 182 of RA Criminal Code. The criminal case on the latter was separated as a separate proceeding and with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

V. Avdiani was involved as a defendant according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 182 of RA Criminal Code and search was declared against him. Preliminary investigation of the criminal case on the latter’s part is ongoing, measures are taken to find all circumstances, to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
