Criminal Proceeding Initiated with regard to Wounding Two Servicemen of RA Armed Forces as a Result of Using Combat Drone by Rival
On May 12, 2023 at about 10:00 the servicemen of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, out of hatred, intolerance and hostility due to racial, national, ethnic origin, with the intent to deprive of life the servicemen of the unit N of the armed forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, carrying out their service duty, used combat drone from the blow of which two servicemen of the same unit received bodily injuries of different gravities.
On the same day they were taken to Gegharkunik’s garrison military hospital. The health condition of one of the servicemen is assessed as satisfactory, the other’s – serious.
In regard with the report received on the case a criminal proceeding was initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1, 7 and 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code (2 counts).
The investigative group immediately left for the scene. Urgent evidentiary and procedural actions are conducted to find out circumstances of the case, to give legal assessment to the criminal actions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan.
