Criminal Proceeding Initiated with Regard to Four Persons’ Murder, Murder Attempt against one more Person Committed by Rival
On February 13, 2024 the servicemen of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, out of racial, national, ethnic hatred, intolerance or hostility, with the intent to illegally deprive of life, fired shots towards the combat positions of the south-eastern part of the contact line under the protection of the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense. As a result, 4 persons Eduard Harutyunyan, Gagik Manukyan, Arsen Hambardzumyan, Hrach Hovhannisyan received firearm bodily injuries incompatible with life. One more person Rustam Vardanyan received a firearm injury at the region of the forearm of the right hand. The latter's condition is assessed as medium severity.
Considering that there is a base and reason for initiation of a criminal proceeding, in the Ninth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Points 1, 8 and 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 155 (4 counts) and the Points 1, 8 and 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code.
Preliminary investigation is conducted. Necessary and urgent investigative and other procedural actions are conducted.
