Criminal Proceeding Initiated on Criminal Military Actions Committed on May 11 by Armed Forces of Azerbaijan
On May 11, 2023 starting from 06:00 the servicemen of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, violating the ceasefire regime, out of hatred, intolerance and hostility due to racial, national, ethnic origin, with the intent to deprive of life the servicemen of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, carrying out their service duty, fired shots from artillery weapons and firearms towards the combat positions of the protection area of the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense located at the eastern direction of the RA border.
As a result of these actions 4 servicemen of the unit N carrying out combat duty at the combat positions of the protection area of the same unit of the RA Ministry of Defense received bodily injuries. They were taken to garrison military hospital.
A criminal proceeding was initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1, 7, 8 and 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code (4 counts).
Relevant measures are taken to find out circumstances of the case, to give final legal assessment to the criminal actions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan. The health condition of the wounded servicemen is assessed as satisfactory.
