In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charges were pressed against the Head of General Control Division of Control Department of the RA Ministry of Defense, Colonel Samvel Khachatryan for getting bribe in particularly large amount and chief specialist of Technical Department of the RA Ministry of Defense Arsen Gharibjanyan for supporting to get bribe in particularly large amount.
 

Through preliminary investigation it was found that on December 15 Colonel S. Khachatryan got informed that in the result of implementation of purchase contract signed with the RA Ministry of Defense on 06.11.2015 the LLC received super profit and carried out some inspection activities by the supervisor’s instruction. According to the obtained evidence, through chief specialist A. Gharibjanyan the Colonel demanded bribe in particularly large amount 5.000.000 AMD  for reporting to his supervisor on the inspection results in favor to the company or abusing his authorities favoring not to send the materials on inspection to law enforcers,  
 

Through investigation sufficient data were obtained on the allegation that A. Gharibjanyan expressed willingness to support S. Khachatryan by his actions. For that purpose at the beginning of March, 2016 he met the Director of the company A. Ayvazyan and told him about the Colonel’s demand on bribe of 5 millions AMD. On March 15 he himself met him at the administrative building of RA Defense Ministry and received the demanded money.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence on March 18 senior investigator of particularly important cases pressed charge against the Head of General Control Division of Control Department, Colonel Samvel Khachatryan according to the Point 2 of the Part 4 of the Article 311, against chief specialist Arsen Gharibjanyan – according to the Point 2 of the Part 4 of the Article 38-311 of RA Criminal Code.
 

On the same day motions were submitted to the Court of First Instance of Arabkir and Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan to use detention as a pretrial measure against defendants. The motions were sufficed.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
