Circumstances of murder of 49 year-old woman in Vanadzor found; the case sent to court

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of the resident of Vanadzor Natalia Sergeyeva was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee.
 

On 25 December, 2014 at 12:10 in the yard of the house located at 2B Tamantsineri, Vanadzor the body of the resident of the same address N. Sergeyeva born on 25.10.1965 with numerous lacerated wounds on her head was found by the ambulance brigade of “Vanadzor” medical centre.
 

Through preliminary investigation of the criminal case on murder of 49 year-old woman investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department the person having committed the apparent crime was identified, the circumstances of the case were found. It was particularly found that the 64 year-old resident of Vanadzor got into close relations with his neighbor – a Russian woman, he regularly got drunk with her, then entered into actual marriage and they lived together.
 

According to the investigation data the man lost his eyesight when he was a child. Gradually developing his senses during the time he got used to moving freely without a stick and associating with people.
 

Through preliminary investigation sufficient data were obtained on the allegation that while living and regularly drinking with the woman the man scolded and battered her. On the night of December 24, 2014 after another drink he argued with Natalia and on the night of December 25 from 01:00 to 03:00 hit numerous times at her head with a blunt, hard object and killed her. Then he dragged her body out of the house into the garden holding from her underarms and went to his house.
 

On the base of the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding the 64 year-old resident of Vanadzor was charged according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.
 

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the Prosecution Office of Lori. The bill of indictment was confirmed by the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation and the case was sent to the Court of First Instance of Lori.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
