A Group of People Passed Counterfeit Banknotes into Circulation in 29 Separate Operations: Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on passing counterfeit banknotes into circulation by a group of people was completed in the Department for Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the course of the preliminary investigation it was found out that M.H. acting in a group with his acquaintances R.A., E.Kh., N.K., in the period between May and December, 2025 passed to various individuals counterfeit banknotes: a total of one 100.000 AMD note, twenty 50.000 AMD notes, one 20.000 AMD note, and five 10.000 AMD notes, thereby fraudulently misappropriating property in the total amount of 1 million 149 thousand 860 AMD.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against M.H., R.A., E.KH., and N.K. for passing counterfeit banknotes into circulation (29 counts) and committing fraud.

Home detention was applied as a pretrial measure against M.H. and R.A., administrative supervision- against E.Kh. and N.K..

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
