In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a case of theft in particularly large amount committed by a criminal organization was disclosed. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation it was grounded that on March 3, 2026 the members of the criminal organization left for one of the settlements of Spitak community, illegally entered an apartment committing theft in particularly large amount.
 
As a result of large-scale investigative actions planned and conducted in the course of the preliminary investigation, another member of the criminal organization was identified, as well: the latter, being in close relations with the victim, learning in advance that he was going to celebrate his birthday party in another place, as well as knowing that there was money, valuable jewelry and other things in the latter’s house, provided the members of the criminal organization with information known to him, indicated the location of the apartment in the days leading up to the incident, as well as selected in advance potential escape routes.

As a result of simultaneous searches conducted in the apartments of the members of the criminal organization, as well as in the cars used by them, a part of the stolen property, as well as other items and objects intended for burglary, opening apartment doors, and establishing contact with each other was found.

In the course of the preliminary investigation public criminal prosecution was initiated against 8 people: against 7 of them - according to the Points 2 and 4 of the Part 3 of the Article 254 and the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 338 of RA Criminal Code, against 1 person - according to the Points 2 and 4 of the Part 3 of the Article 46-254 and the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 46-338 of RA Criminal Code. 

Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against 7 people, home detention and absence ban - against 1 person. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation information was also received that the members of the criminal organization had previously committed several crimes, as well. Necessary investigative actions are conducted to disclose the committals committed by the criminal organization and to give them criminal-legal assessment.
