In the course of preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in the RA Investigative Committee on cases of preparation of terrorism and illegal circulation of firearms, their main components, ammunition and other materials, devices, objects, there is an attempt in the media, as well as by various individuals, to spread disinformation regarding the objects seized during the search, claiming that the discovered objects are intended for other purposes and do not pose a public danger.

In this regard we inform that according to the results of the research conducted within the framework of the forensic-explosive-technical, forensic ballistic, forensic chemical comprehensive expertise, the grenade, confiscated during the search conducted today, is a combat grenade of “F 1” type, and the 2 electronic detonators are also ammunition.

Considering the above, we urge to refrain from the vicious practice of spreading disinformation driven by personal or other motives, as well as from circulating false information not derived from criminal proceedings in the public.

The Investigative Committee will continue to consistently and effectively implement the tasks of the preliminary investigation by strictly implementing the principles of legality and justice, and will undertake the implementation of these principles by applying the permissible tools provided for by the criminal procedure law, assuring that it will counter any type of criminal harassment of an illegal nature, in accordance with the procedure established by law.
