Damage in Particularly Large Amount Caused to State by Director of “Hayantar” SNCO Branch
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in 2018 on causing pecuniary damage in particularly large amount to the state by the director of a branch of “Hayantar” SNCO, was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
In the course of the preliminary investigation apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that in 2017-2018 the director of the forestry, being aware of the illegal tree felling, timber harvesting and sale carried out by various individuals in the branch's reserve units, out of personal and group interests, gave verbal and unlawful instructions to the foresters and forest managers, who had discovered these facts, not to record the cases of illegal tree felling and take certain actions to conceal them.
As a result, in the reserve units operating under the branch 3221 various types of trees were cut down, which was disclosed only as a result of an inspection carried out in various reserve units of the forestry branch by the employees of the RA Nature Protection and Mineral Inspection Body, at the initiative of the investigative body.
As a result of the actions of the branch director, pecuniary damage in particularly large amount, 360 million 377 thousand 625 AMD was caused to the state.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against H.A. according to the Points 2 and 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 441 of RA Criminal Code.
In the course of preliminary investigation ban in the amount of 21 million 111 thousand 587 AMD was imposed to the movable and immovable property owned by H.A..
The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
