Deputy Candidate of the “Strong Armenia” Alliance Concealed Information about Possessing Foreign Citizenship which Constitutes Obstacle to Acquiring Status of Public Official

According to the report on apparent crime received from the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, N.K., candidate for Deputy, nominated as the first candidate on the “Strong Armenia” alliance list in the regular RA National Assembly elections to be held on June 7, 2026, having been warned about the liability prescribed by law for providing false information, intentionally concealed the fact of having or having had foreign citizenship; namely, submitted a false application to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stating that he was not a citizen of another state, thereby concealing information about possessing foreign citizenship, which constitutes an obstacle to acquiring the status of a public official.

Based on the report, a criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 449 of RA Criminal Code.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
