In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on murder committed in Merdzavan, public criminal prosecution was initiated against the arrested person under the article qualifying as assisting to murder. 

A motion was submitted to the court to apply detention as a pretrial measure against him, which was sufficed.

As a result of investigative actions conducted during the preliminary investigation, a gym membership card was discovered inside a sports bag, which was forwarded to the relevant investigative body. It was found out that the card belonged to the person who had committed the murder.

Continuing the operative-investigative measures taken by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to fully uncover the circumstances of the crime, the other member of the group, having committed the apparent crime, was also disclosed and identified. The latter was apprehended and presented to the investigative body.

The latter provided a self-incriminating testimony and indicated the location of the assault rifle used in the commission of the crime. The rifle was also seized by the investigator.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against the person having committed the murder according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 (2 counts), the Part 1 of the Article 44-155, and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code.
