Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding on M.A. Completed
In the course of preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that during the interview with a news channel M.A. stated that he had repeatedly suggested to carry out a military coup through generals with similar ideas serving in the army, police, and national security service.
Thus, M.A., using the mass media, made public calls aimed at usurping power and forcibly overthrowing the constitutional order.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against M.A. according to the Part 2 of the Article 422 of RA Criminal Code.
Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against him.
The criminal proceeding on M.A. with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
