In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee as well as urgent measures taken together with the employees of the RA Police S. Ghukasyan wanted on the charge of using violence against the police officer was found and presented to the investigative body.

It was earlier informed that the resident of Gyumri had submitted an application informing that on August 17, 2021 between 23:00 and 23:15 Spartak Ghukasyan together with three-four men entered the yard of her house to make clarifications with her son.

The law enforcement officers visited Spartak Ghukasyan’s residence to verify the circumstances mentioned in the application. However, the latter first refused to open the door then some hours later called the Head of the Department of Criminal Intelligence of Kumayri Division of the RA Police and threatened to use violence against him.

In the result of necessary measures S. Ghukasyan was found and charge was pressed against him for using violence against the representative of authorities. On August 20, 2021 a motion was submitted to court by the investigative body to use detention as a pretrial measure against S. Ghukasyan which was rejected. On September 15, 2021 the RA Criminal Court of Appeal sufficed the appeal to choose detention as a pretrial measure against S. Ghukasyan.

Considering that S. Ghukasyan had been properly notified and invited to the investigative body but had not come, had not informed about the reasons and his location was unknown, a decision was made by the investigative body to declare search against him.

In the result of necessary measures on November 27, 2021 Spartak GHukasyan was found and brought to the investigative body. The latter was detained.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
