Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Case on Murder Attempt against Fellow-Villager Completed

In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of murder attempt committed by 66 year-old resident of Norashen village against his fellow-villager were found out.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, on August 29, 2021 at about 11:00 66 year-old man and his fellow-villager drove to Qaghtsrashen village in 66 year-old man’s car to clarify disagreements they had had about irrigation water.

On the way a row erupted between them about the mentioned issue during which 66 year-old man stopped the car and forced his fellow-villager to get out. Then for the purpose of depriving him of life, he attacked him and tried to stab. The latter protected himself, however his hand was injured. Then 66 year-old man poured petrol in a polyethylene container he had in the car on the fellow-villager and burnt but under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime as the fellow-villager managed to take off the clothes and put out the fire. After it the fellow-villager attacked 66 year-old man, willfully hit him with hands on different parts of his body causing damage of medium gravity to his health.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 66 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him. Charge was pressed against the latter’s fellow-villager according to the Part 1 of the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the motion to confirm the bill of indictment and send it to court was sent to the prosecutor.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
