A criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on beating church pastor R. Grigoryan in the building of religious organization of “Evangelical Christian Church”.
The resident of Vanadzor Rafayel Grigoryan submitted a written report informing that on October 4, 2016 at about 21:00 in the building of religious organization of “Evangelical Christian Church” located at Vardanants 28, Vanadzor the candidate of city council member of Vanadzor community hit him with hands for many times with the purpose of taking revenge for not voting for him during the city council elections of Vanadzor community held on October 2, 2016.
Considering that the materials prepared on the base of the report apparently contain crime features envisaged by the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code a criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department.
On the same day a decision was made to find Rafayel Grigoryan an injured party and forensic examination was commissioned. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to find all circumstances of the case, instructions were given to relevant subdivisions of the police.
Signature not to leave was used as a pretrial measure against candidate of city council member of Vanadzor community A. Peleshyan as a suspect. Using his procedural right the latter refused to give testimony.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
