In First Term of 2019 331 Criminal Cases on Domestic Violence Investigated in IC Proceeding

Criminal cases on domestic violence investigated in the first term of 2019 were summed up in the RA Investigative Committee. Pursuant to brief data, in the first term of 2019 331 criminal cases on domestic violence were investigated in the Investigative Committee.

In the first term of 2019 180 materials on domestic violence were prepared in subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee 5 of which were prepared in General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

331 criminal cases on domestic violence subject to investigation in the RA Investigative Committee were investigated at the observed period.

At the mentioned period 331 criminal cases were in the proceeding of the Investigative Committee 9 of which – in the proceeding of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Moreover, 274 of 331 criminal cases were received in the proceeding of the Investigative Committee in the first term of 2019, 57 of them were incomplete cases in the proceeding. 176 criminal cases were initiated at the mentioned period, 3 of them – by the RA IC General Military Investigative Department.

Within the above mentioned criminal cases 209 persons were involved as a defendant, 77 of them were from 18 to 35 years old, 132 of them – over 35.

7 of the crimes committed in the family were committed by mother, 18 – by father, 1 – by step father, 6 – by brother/sister, 2 – by grandmother/grandfather, 23 – by son/daughter (including adopted), 3 – by wife, 135 – by husband, 5 – by grandson/granddaughter, 7 – by husband’s parents, 3 – by daughter-in-law/son-in-law.

Within criminal cases 312 persons were found the affected party 25 of which were up to 12 years old, 10 – from 12 to 14 years old, 6 -– from 14 to 16, 8 – from 16 to 18, 124– from 18 to 35, 139 – over 35.

In the first term of 2019 206 criminal cases on domestic violence were completed 7 of which – in the RA IC General Military Investigative Department.

44 criminal cases on 45 persons with the bill of indictment were sent to court (2 criminal cases on 2 persons – in the RA IC General Military Investigative Department).

Out of 331 criminal cases on domestic violence

9 were initiated according to the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder),

2 – according to the Article 109 of RA Criminal Code (causing death by negligence),

2 – according to the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code (causing to commit suicide),

4 – according to the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful heavy damage to health),

9 – according to the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health),

33 – according to the Article 117 of RA Criminal Code (infliction of willful light damage to health),

184 – according to the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code (battery),

4 – according to the Article 119 of RA Criminal Code (causing strong pain or mental sufferance), 

1 – according to the Article 121 of RA Criminal Code (inflicting medium-gravity damage through negligence),

2 – according to the Article 131 of RA Criminal Code (kidnapping),

25 – according to the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code (threat to murder, to inflict heavy damage to one's health or to destroy property),

1 – according to the Article 139 of RA Criminal Code (violent sexual acts),

6 – according to the Article 141 of RA Criminal Code ( sexual intercourse or other sexual acts with a person obviously under 16),

3 – according to the Article 142 of RA Criminal Code (lecherous acts),

1 – according to the Article 166.1 of RA Criminal Code (involvement of a child into regular use of alcoholic drinks, strong or other narcotic drugs not for medical purposes, vagrancy or beggary),

1 – according to the Article 167 of RA Criminal Code (separation of the child from the parents or substitution of the child),

4 – according to the Article 167.1 of RA Criminal Code (hindering to visits of parent or other close relative to the child),

1 – according to the Article 169.1 (reporting false information to Civil Status Act Registration Bodies),

9 – according to the Article 173 of RA Criminal Code (willful evasion from supporting child by the parent),

1 – according to the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code (willful destruction or spoilage of property),

18 – according to the Article 353.1 of RA Criminal Code (willful failure to carry out an urgent intervention or other protective verdict),
