Drug found at the prisoner after being visited by his father

A criminal case was initiated in Goris Investigative Division of Syuniq Regional Investigative Department on illegal procurement of drug by the prisoner of “Goris” penitentiary M. Manucharyan.  In the framework of the criminal case it was found that the drug was passed to him during the visit by his father.
 

On 11 December, 2014, at 12:15 after his father’s visit in the room for visits the prisoner of “Goris” penitentiary M. Manucharyan was searched in the result of which 9.16 grams of drug of “Opium” type was discovered in his panty. The drug was taken, packed and sealed with the stamp of “Goris” penitentiary.
 

A criminal case was initiated on illegal procurement and keeping of drug according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 268 of RA Criminal Code the preliminary investigation of which is being conducted by the Investigative Division of Goris.
 

Through preliminary investigation it was found that on 11 December, 2014 the prisoner’s father arrived in Goris from Sisian in his relative Tumanyan’s car ”VAZ2106” to visit his son who was in “Goris” penitentiary.
 

According to preliminary investigation data during the visit in the room for visits father had passed the drug to his son which was found in the result of the latter’s personal search.
 

On the base of sufficient evidence obtained in the framework of the criminal case a charge was pressed against the prisoner’s father according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 266 of RA Criminal Code.
 

In the result of the search of the latter’s residence where he lived with his relative dry cannabis-like mass was discovered. Forensic chemical examination was appointed.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective examination of circumstances of the criminal case.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
